Sagada | Splash From The Big Falls

SAGADA | Splash From The Big Falls
The Long Trekking And The Big Reward

" Buwis Buhay" or death defying, the term Pinoy's love to use when they do something that pushes them to their limit. The long trekk along the Aguid Rice Terraces just to get here in the Bomod-ok Falls (Big Falls) of Sagada is tiresome, being in an open rice field expose to the sun. It's no wonder people would call this "Buwis Buhay, likened if you have been missing on cardio exercises as this would likely burn all the calories taken at breakfast prior to trekking. The big reward awaits, and while I push myself, struggling along with my water bottle and heavy camera to witness this wall of cascading natural wonder, I relent while taking a lung full of the freshest Sagada air.

TRAVEL NOTES | Palawan

EL NIDO | Lounging At Palawan

I'm left breathless just scanning the landscape photos I'm bringing home. It's been a year that I've been here in El Nido, this time we were blessed with a very nice humid weather. Too hot perhaps, but I'll lived through it knowing that I've got this paradise covered.

Sunday, June 24, 2012 It was a challenge to take this trip, I was on a quest to prove not just on my own but for a few of those silent readers I have that going to EL Nido is not expensive. Wow! I was amazed at how I accomplished it, I saved more from my initial budget. More of it on my future post, I would probably write down an itinerary for the first time. Tomorrow, I'm flying back to Manila and allow my skin to recuperate from the rigors and exposure to elements that I had it subjected from the last few days. The skin on my shoulders and my upper back are tender from being sun burnt. I kind of liking my tan, I think it looks good on me. This is also the first time for me trying to shoot photos in RAW form, and I can't wait to get my hands on them soon. Enjoy a few shots of my Sunset photos of El Nido. I guess you could consider that Sunset watching is extra special in many ways.

Travel Notes features my thoughts while on the road. It's a mirror of my current state of mind, impressions of the places I go through, these are snippets of my first hand experiences while traveling.

Manila | Sunset Over The Harbor

MANILA | Sunset Over The Harbor
A Postcard From Manila Bay

I think of this sunset as one of Manila Ocean Parks unexpected delights. Being located in Manila Bay with their structure literally on stills in the water, this is a good vantage point to watch sunset fall over the Manila North Harbor.

Sagada | Trekking Echo Valley

SAGADA | Trekking Echo Valley
A Church, A Cemetery, A Valley Of Pines And Hanging Coffins

As part of a day tour, this is more of exploring Sagada's cultural heritage. Being that this trail is very near the centro of the town, Trekking Echo Valley starts by visiting the small church that looked more like one of those american county churches, very much charming and quaint. The church looks at home as framed by huge Pine Trees and unique architectural design.

Sagada | In Search Of A Beautiful Sunrise

SAGADA | In Search Of  A Beautiful Sunrise
A Cold Morning, A Viewpoint And A Foggy Sunrise

It looks like a gateway to heaven, seeing the fog covers and envelopes the pine trees, marking their silhouette even from a distance. It certainly looked divine, making it one of the reasons why I wanted to visit Sagada again. The rugged terrain, the sweet smell of old pines, marvelous cave system, and a weather that's perfect for communing with nature, these makes Sagada to be just the right place to escape the searing heat of Summer in the Philippines.

Manila | Jellies Of Manila Ocean Park

MANILA | Photographing The Alien World Of Jellies
As Part of Manila Ocean Park Adventure

It was a nice conclusion to a month long summer vacation of my two younger siblings. They'll be back to school in a couple of weeks. Staying with me in my humble apartment is part of their itinerary, and since its their first time here in Manila, I am task to let them see and experience what this urban jungle is about.
