A Venerated Church And The Girls Who Chased After Us

After visiting a lot of "Bahay na Bato" in the Heritage town of Taal and the Minor Basilica, I thought were done with churches. It's the time of the afternoon where you can go out; the sun's heat has already subsided. Thought we would already have much about the history of Taal in a day, but it's not enough really. Seeing that the whole town itself is littered with old heritage houses, the new ones obviously built from the old foundations. I have to say that visiting the Church of Our Lady of Caysasay is my least favorite, but still it's a venerated church for a good reason.

As part of a day tour, this is more of exploring Sagada's cultural heritage. Being that this trail is very near the centro of the town, Trekking Echo Valley starts by visiting the small church that looked more like one of those american county churches, very much charming and quaint. The church looks at home as framed by huge Pine Trees and unique architectural design.

An Idyllic Church Perched On A Hilltop

 Culion is a scenic silent town that is rich in history, the place itself being part of the Calamianes Group Of Islands in MIMAROPA Region. I was in my day 1 trip to Coron, as expected of any Palawan Trips, I was in for a water fun adventure. Our quick trip to Culion was more of a quick visit before we drop to Banana and Malcapuya Islands, though I was aware of the history of this place, I was brought to a history ride by visiting this humble town that has been famous the world over. After a film showing of Culion's history in the Museum of Archives we went about the town, one of the first edifice that caught my attention is their Church of Immaculate Concepcion.

Travel Bloggers call this Black Tourism, were you feature places and locations that had a violent or dark history behind it. Camiguin is not called the Island Born of The Fire for nothing, as the entire island itself is littered with many volcanoes both old a new ones. The Sunken Cemetery is just one evidence of the force of nature lurking beneath the island. What I witnessed here in the Old Church Ruins is what's left of the original foundation of a church, could have been a Cathedral in respect because its obvious that it was a huge edifice before a Volcanic eruption ruined it.
